Baboon on the Moon

Year 3
Baboon was sleeping peacefully in his cosy bed. He was snoring loudly and dreaming of his family in Africa. Wrapped around him was a special blanket from home. His dream carried on until his alarm clock burst into life at 6.00.

Baboon went into the bathroom and looked into his own reflection. He rubbed his eyes tiredly. He picked up his toothbrush and toothpaste, brushed his shiny teeth and he slowly and sadly stomped out of the room.

He carefully made his breakfast and sat at the small table for one. He quickly ate his porridge and slurped up his tea. In the background, African drums played and the beat reminded of home.

Once baboon had got out of bed, brushed his shiny teeth, and had breakfast, he was ready for work. He stomped slowly out of the sunless and lonely room.

He trudged extremely slowly to work. The gravity was less than that on earth and it meant he had to work harder to keep his feet on the floor. He was also walking slowly because he missed his family, and his work was boring.

When baboon got to work he put the Moonshine into the Moon Machine, pulled the lever and the moon lit up. The Moonshine being poured reminded him of raindrops falling on the leaves at home.
Baboon sat down slowly and looked at the big, wide world in front of him. He wanted his family so much that he cried for them. He wept silently for a while, then he wiped his eyes, but he could not stop crying. When he eventually stopped, he considered his family and friends and how much he loved them.
He took his rusty trumpet out of its case and tested it out. He soon realised that it was too dusty to play. So he pulled out of his old bag a red and white rag and wiped it clear until it ws golden. He began to play his trumpet. He thought while he played, 'Will I see my family again?'

He played his trumpet miserably. He looked unhappily at the earth and played a sad tune to his mummy and daddy. Baboon was all alone. He missed his family and friends. 'When am I going home?' he thought to himself gloomily/regretfully/miserably.
